Submission process

Abstract submission is accepted via the online Abstract Portal. 

To begin the abstract submission, you need to create a New Account and your contact record in the online system via the link provided above. After creating a new contact, additional tabs will appear that will enable you to submit your abstract. You may save a draft at any stage and complete your submission before the deadline.

Submission deadline

The Abstract Portal will close on Saturday 9 May 2026 Australian Eastern Standard time.

Number of submissions

There is a limit of two submissions per one presenting author.

Presentation type

You can indicate your preferred presentation format (oral or poster). This is only a preference, as the Program Committee will make the final decision on the type of your presentation. Applicants wishing to present both a talk and a poster are required to submit two separate abstracts (i.e. also choosing two different themes).

Conference topics

You have to align your abstract with one of the conference topics. Refer to the event Home page for the list of topics. If the subject of your abstract does not fall under any conference topic, please contact the event secretary (spera2026@anu.edu.au) to discuss options with the Program Committee before the abstract submission deadline.

Abstract requirements

• The abstract title is limited to 20 words.
• You need to provide your abstract in a text format limited to 450 words (including references), not counting a title and author(s) and author affiliations. 
• You can attach 1 file in a picture format up to 5 MB as a supporting information (e.g. chart, graph, or figure). 

Post-submission communication

After submission, you will receive a confirmation email. Please allow for a few minutes for it to arrive. Your abstract will be reviewed by the Program Committee, and you will be notified about the acceptance status on June 9, 2026.

The Program Committee may contact you before that date and request to re-submit your abstract would any amendments be required. Extensions and late re-submissions cannot be guaranteed and are at the discretion of the Program Committee.
